Orb Networks Hires Technology, Start-Up Veteran To Lead Company’s Field Operations
EMERYVILLE, Calif. - February 2, 2007 — Orb Networks announced today that technology industry veteran Paul Edelhertz joined the company as senior vice president of field operations, a new position where he will be responsible for sales and strategic partnerships. Edelhertz joins the company with more than 23 years in building and scaling technology and service businesses. In addition to being CEO of two successful high-tech start-ups, he was most recently senior vice president of field operations for Revenue Science, Inc., a leading provider of behavioral targeting services for the on-line advertising market.
"Transitioning a company like Orb from start-up to maturity, takes leaders who have done it before and have the relevant experience," said Joe Costello, Chairman and CEO of Orb Networks. "Paul brings us this incredible combination of relevant skills - he's been a CEO of a start-up twice, an associate partner at Accenture Consulting, led strategic partnerships and run sales organizations - having someone of Paul's caliber and seniority at the helm to build sales and deliver on customer partnerships as we scale is a real win for us."
Edelhertz comes to the company on the heels of recent product and partner announcements that illustrate Orb's growth. The company launched the 2.0 version of its MyCasting service in December, surpassed more than 600,000 users of its software last week and developed new strategic relationships in the last quarter with companies including: Nokia, Hutchison 3 Group, Orange, AOL Winamp and Amino.
Prior to joining Orb, Edelhertz was senior vice president of field operations for Revenue Science, Inc., a leading provider of behavioral targeting services for the on-line advertising market. He also served as president and CEO of Santa Cruz Networks, a provider of communication and collaboration services as well as president and CEO of Zamba Solutions, a publicly-traded services firm focused on customer relationship management (CRM). During his tenure there, Edelhertz led the growth of Zamba from its formation into a $50 million company in two years and achieved seven straight quarters of profitability. He also served as vice president of customer solutions of Racotek, Zamba's predecessor company.
Edelhertz has more than 12 years of management consulting experience and was an associate partner in the high technology practice at Accenture. There, he directed and managed systems selection, implementation, process improvement and technology planning projects for clients throughout the US, Europe and South America. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Claremont-McKenna College in southern California.
