The new version is available from the Orb website. Additionally, Orb Networks announced plans to release other language versions of its Media Software over the next two months so consumers around the globe will be able to gain free access to all of their digital content via the Web.
Orb provides consumers around the world with FREE, spontaneous mobile access to their music, photos, videos, webcams and other digital content located on their home PC from virtually any Internet-enabled device. The Japanese-language release of Orb comes after recent Orb Networks announcements of worldwide product support, the launch of its first international edition (French), and elimination of subscription fees.
As part of its global outreach, Orb Networks is currently establishing business relationships with providers of television guide data in a variety of countries, including France, Japan and Great Britain to allow users to stream live TV for free. Until then, the Orb TV feature is only available in the United States.
There is a tremendous demand around the world, particularly in Asia, for a company to provide users mobile access to their digital media said Jim Behrens, CEO, Orb Networks. Orb is the first personal media portal company to offer localized language versions for international consumers around the globe. We are proud of our position as the industry leader bringing this service to consumers worldwide.
The Japanese version of Orb is available to download from anywhere in the world at www.orb.com/getorb2 for consumers with Windows XP operating system or Windows XP Media Center Edition. After downloading the application, consumers only need to complete a five-minute installation procedure and they are ready to use any Internet-connected device to view digital photos, videos, Webcams or listen to MP3 music files stored on their home PC.
