Orb partners with Inventec Besta to release chinese version

EMERYVILLE, CA, Dec. 3, 2005 – Orb Networks, a developer of streaming media software and services, and Inventec Besta, the leading brand linking Chinese communities worldwide, today announced a partnership to offer a localized version of Orb’s free, award-winning streaming media service to Chinese speaking customers in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Through this partnership, tens of millions of users will have a native-language version of Orb and gain free, spontaneous access to all of their personal digital media – music, videos, photos, live TV – through any Web-connected device such as a PDA, mobile phone, or laptop computer.

“Orb enables us to join the mobile media phenomenon. Currently, there is no other offering that measures up to Orb and we are excited to offer this service to the region,” said Bill Tseng, CEO of Inventec Besta. “This strategic partnership with Orb enables us to expand our business into new areas and continue to aggressively grow our network of communities.”

Over the past five years, Inventec Besta has made significant investments into China, Hong Kong and Taiwan markets, laying the groundwork for a network linking Chinese communities worldwide. Inventec Besta’s localized knowledge of support and marketing will propel Orb to the forefront of mobile digital media in the region.

“Inventec Besta’s knowledge of the local market coupled with their extensive network of partners makes them an ideal partner for Orb,” said Jim Behrens, CEO of Orb Networks. “We are now able to bring Orb to savvy digital media users in a rapidly evolving market.”

Orb Networks’ software and service provides a simple way for consumers to spontaneously access their live TV, music, photos, videos, Skype voicemail, and other digital content located on their home PC from virtually any Web-connected device, from anywhere in the world. Orb’s intuitive solution streams a consumer’s own content from their home PC to a Web browser and media player on a cell phone, PDA, or notebook, creating their own personal media portal. Consumers can also remotely record TV programs using Orb’s Digital Video Recorder (DVR) function and then view those recorded programs at any time on any of their mobile devices.

This partnership is part of Orb’s expanding global reach. In addition to Chinese, Orb is available in English, German, Korean, Japanese, and French.
