"Today, the media streaming service Orb announced their official iPhone application, OrbLive 2.0, allowing you to stream your media files across multiple devices via 3G, EDGE or Wi-Fi. The official application allows for a more intuitive and streamlined experience instead of the traditional browser interface. It'll save you time from syncing all of those files that you claim don't exist buried in the dim recesses of your hard drive."

"The basic tenet behind OrbLive is that instead of being limited by the storage capacity of the iPhone, you should be able to use the networking capabilities of the device to stream anything from your own library at home. In addition to this, OrbLive also allows you to stream live TV to the iPhone."

"We knew Orb was working on an iPhone port of its media-streaming app, and it looks like Orb 2.0 just stealthily went live in the App Store. The $10 app lets TV junkies watch live TV from a tuner connected to a Windows PC, as well as stream music, videos, and photos from their libraries. Even cooler, Orb allows you to monitor a webcam, so you can finally nail those Diet Coke thieves from the comfort of your cube (or keep an eye on your infant, whatever.)"

"OrbLive removes the limitations of hard drive capacities and by utilizing Orb’s “powerful networking capabilities” allows users access to their entire media library anywhere they can connect to the internet. The app also gives users the ability to preview all their Office documents (docs, xls, pdf, ppt, txt file formats are all supported). OrbLive is a boon to those with large media libraries, those indecisive about what to sync, and of course those that interested in watching live TV on their touch device."

"Orb, one of my long-time favorite applications for remotely streaming home media has finally come to the iTunes AppStore. What I always liked about Orb is that is smartly manages the audio or video stream based on your connection speed: it's always optimized. So what can you stream on your handheld while away from home? Music stored on your home computer (DRM-free); videos that you've downloaded at home or created yourself; photos in your home library; live television from a TV tuner card; and a connected webcam... I use this to see if the cats are sitting in my office chair when I'm out."

"Orb has finally announced their official application for the iPhone and iPod Touch that goes by the name of OrbLive 2.0. Users can now stream media that you would normally enjoy on your PC such as, music, videos, photos, webcams and even live TV to their handsets from anywhere they have a connection. OrbLive uses the powerful networking capabilities of the iPhone and iPod Touch to transform the devices into more powerful media players, by giving you access to more media than what you have stored on your device. Access files stored on your PC from home, work or anywhere there is available Wi-Fi. With Orb’s reputation we suspect this application will sell rather well."

"You don't need Steve Jobs' permission to watch TV on your iPhone any more. A native Orb client for the iPhone and iPod Touch popped up on the installer networks overnight, and Orb confirms that it's official. One of the drawbacks of the iPhone/Touch is the narrow choice of supported video formats - a strange omission in what is the best personal media player on the market. But then it's not so strange when you consider Apple's ambitions to sell you TV shows and movies - which you've already paid for with your cable subscription. Orb effectively fixes this problem."

"Soccer fans with 9 to 5 jobs might have trouble catching all the World Cup games. Orb.com thinks it has the answer. The free service allows anyone with a home computer to beam live programming to their mobile phone, PDA or laptop with only an Internet connection. Older computers might need a Tvtuner card (available through Hauppauge Computer Works, which is offering a World Cup Special), but most newer computers with media capabilities should be compatible."

"TV everywhere. Is this the beginning of the end for the telco's walled garden? Vodafone's German operation has launched an experimental service that may, if it's successful, usher in a new era of thinking for the cellular operators. Vodafone MeinPC...uses Orb's software to allow 3G customers to access the photos and MP3s that reside on their home PCs. More interestingly, it will also permit subscribers to watch TV that's being captured on their own PC and transmitted across the cellular network."

"Live isn't good enough for TV anymore, at least for World Cup viewers....The latest in takeitwithyou technology is ondemand streaming video for mobile devices, powered by a collaboration between Hauppauge Computer Works and Orb Networks. The nifty trick here is that you tune your Webenabled mobile device to receive a signal from your home PC. You can watch live or download for later viewing. You can even schedule future downloads from the handheld.... The hype is all for the World Cup, but you'll have the functionality long after the last goal has been scored."

Now Orb brings this power to your asynchronous communication in business or personal relationships."
